Shang Chi

Shang chi is a martial art master who confronts the past that he thought he left behind when he is drawn back to the mysterious legend of the Ten rings. When Shang chi was a kid his father who was the legend of the rings gives him training how to become an assassin, he wanted his own son to become an assassin because when Shang chi turns his father sends him on his first mission and that was to kill the person who killed his mother.

Shang Chi leaves the mission of killing the guy who killed his mother and instead decides to go abroad to America and live his life there. In America he hides his identity of his real name and his past and he names himself as Shawn which is similar as Shang.

In San Francisco he meets a girl called Katy who becomes her best friends for 10 years, Shawn and Katy started to work together in a hotel, and they used to park customers cars into the parking for them.

the Mandarin is the father of Shang chi, and he is also represented as the villain in the movie. But he also sacrificed his life to save Shang Chi later in the film, but he was a very strict parent and he started doing all this when his wife died by the iron gang members who where the rivals of his past crime life.

Shang chi is the main hero of the movie he is also known as Shawn, he is a martial art master, he is the son of the ten rings legend, and he was trained to be a killer by his father which was one of the things he didn’t want to do. So, when his father sends him on a mission to kill the iron gang leader, who is the one that killed his mother, Shang Chi completes the mission and doesn’t come back home to his father, instead he leaves and goes to San Francisco, where the main story starts to begin.  

Ying Li is known as the mother of Shang li and she was also the protector of the village Ta Lo, that’s the village she is from and where she fought Wenwu, and they both fall in love while fighting each other. Ying li was a kind and loving mother to Shang Chi and Xu Xiang and wife to Xu Wenwu. She often tells his son stories how she met his father and how he was.

One night a group known as the iron gang who had a past duty with Wenwu, infiltrated their home. To protect her children, Ying Li confronted them by herself and managed to kill them all but died in process.

Xu Xia ling was the younger sister of Shang Chi. she and her family lived in the Ten Rings Headquarters in China for many years happily. Ying Li gave Xialing a dragon pendant that could open the key to the map of Ta Lo.

Xia ling trained herself by looking at how his father assassins were training his big brother shag chi.

Xialing left her father house after waiting for years for his brother to return she transfers herself in Japan and buys a fight club where different types of people and creature come to have a fight and people bet on each player and win money.

Xu Xialing is a cold, rebellious, and complex woman due to being abandoned by her brother and neglected by her father.

Katy Chen is shag chi oldest friend, she met Shang chi in high school were the two became best friends. Katy lived her life normally in San Francisco and they both worked in valet parking together.

Katy Chen was born in a family of Chinese immigrants who left Hunan and moved to San Francisco.

Katy is feisty, reckless and loves to have fun in slightly questionable ways, such as going for high-speed joyrides in fast cars with Shaun and scaring him for despite not being a very good driver. She also loves karaoke, often bringing along Shang-Chi. She is also very loyal and brave, helping to defeat the Dweller-in-Darkness by shooting it in the neck with her dragon scale arrow.

Positives

• Lot of action in the movie fighting against dragons and against people with blades stuck in their arms looks very dangerous but its actual real fun the way he uses his martial arts to fight him
• The movie was made good the animation, and everything was good
• The way they represented the martial art in the movie was a good way at the start showed a lot of information of how the martial arts was.

Negatives

• The movie has a lot of violence going on which is not good because kids can’t watch it.
• When his dad was hitting the wall, he could see dragons coming out and he could clearly tell that his wife was not in there, but he continues to punch the wall which makes no sense in my opinion.
• It was made by the westerner it was not made in China by Chinese people and them being involved.
• Few toxic character

Background

Early Life

The movie director of this movie is Destin Daniel Cretton, Cretton was born in 1978 in Haiku, Hawaii on the island of Maui, the son of Janice Harue Cretton, a Japanese American hairdresser, and Daniel Cretton, of Irish and Slovak ancestry, who worked for the fire department. He was home-schooled by his Christian mother. He lived in Haiku in a two-bedroom house with his five siblings, until he was 19 years old. He moved to San Diego, California to attend Point Loma Nazarene University, where he majored in communications. After graduating, Cretton worked for two years as a staff person at a group home for at-risk teenagers.

In 2016 Cretton married a fashion designer Nicola “Nikki” Chapman, and they have two kids now.

In 2012 he was the director writer and the producer off the movie called (I am Hipster) which was a drama film, which was a 90-minutes film, and it was the part of his debut as well. the film was produced by Ran Najor who later goes on and produced the feature adaptation of Short Term 12.

Who would like it and why- conclusion

The audience that will be interested in the movie Shang Chi is the people that likes martial arts, kung-fu and like action movies, this movie is doing the top for the past two weeks and its part of Marvel studio + is in Disney too and it is doing big bits.

Martials art is good you can use it to protect your self from the bad and defend yourself, people can also do martial arts to improve your body’s pressure response and increase muscle. Because so many martial arts involve repeat muscular actions over time, you’ll build strength and burn fat.
