Research
For my research I have talked about what is a YouTube channel and how to make one and I have also talked about 2 different YouTube channels and compared them how they will help me with my YouTube channel.
The initial research went well because I talked a lot about YouTube and my project and how it will be beneficial and I went through each stage of the game that my YouTube channel would have had included in.
My primary feedback did not go so well because I still have no one to give me feedback on my project so I need someone to give me some feedback and I could move on from it easily.
I overcome all the obstacles pretty well on my research and I did this by following the FMP research help document which told me what to do for my research and helped me out all through my research.
In future I will manage my time properly and do finish my assignment 2 weeks before the last day of handing in the assignment.
The strengths of my research is that it has valuable information which I can use later on to help me to make the videos for my channels and explain others how I did my research, the weakness of my research is that it does not have feedback from others people yet and hopefully I will get that in soon before I have to hand in my assignments.
pre- production planning
For my pre production planning I have talked about which equipment I will be using to record my videos for YouTube and I also went through a risk assessment to show if there was any danger while doing certain tasks or how to prevent certain danger stuff while you have to record the video for YouTube channel.
In my opinion what went well was talking through the risk assessment about risk, severity and prevention of risk was not a hard task because I did mobile gaming and there was not much risks or anything I had to go through so in my opinion this was easy for me to deal with.
In my opinion what didn’t go well and as planned was keep up with Trello while doing my other work on a side the reason why I could not keep up with Trello and tick in what I did and write down how did my course work everyday was hard because I have never done anything like that before for my previous projects.
I overcame few obstacles and I personally did not do well such as giving in less info about the equipment’s and not being up with schedules of Trello board which I had struggles to log in at certain point as well but I had less time left to finish off my project in time .
In future I will use Trello board regularly to keep up with my work and I will also use more equipment such as a face cam and a condense mic so you will be able to hear me if i talk in the game, my voice will be much clearer to hear.
The strengths in my pre production planning was me having good information about the risk assessment and having enough proof for my pre production planning. the weakness of my planning was I did not keep up with Trello and I did not write what progress i was making through each stage that was one of my weaknesses.
My planning was nut much variable as if I still had some stuff to add in my planning so it would have been perfectly on target to be visualized in a better way.
production
For my production task I had some recordings of some of my videos and I also have used and not used footage I also used an audio that was an hour long for my video but I only used 3 minutes and 31 seconds of it. I also have my designs such as my banner and my logo but the logo and banner I did for my actual YouTube channel is a a little bit differently from my design that I have made.
In my production task recording videos went well because I normally play games at night on my mobile so it does not take me that long to record few clips and then transfer it from my phone to my college laptop and add it to a folder.
Moving the videos recorded from my phone to the laptop did not go so well because uploading one video took almost 15 to 20 minutes for the slow internet problems in college and for the big GB of each file.
I came well over obstacles that came over in my production task such as linking a folder with all my footage in to my WordPress production page so it will be easier to look on what I have been doing.
In future I would like to add more videos for my production and would like to keep up with Trello board so all my work can be consistent and my time management would improve as well.
My strengths areas were that I had good videos quality and I had footage of not used videos as well I also have edit videos screenshots as well which are needed to show proof of used and not used footage seen.
my weaknesses was that I did not have Trello updates screenshots to show on my production which slowed me down with my time management as well other than that everything was good.
My information was good for the related film that I did, I have enough proof for what I did and how I did it like editing my videos and having enough footage of used and not used footage.
post production
For my post production if I had enough time I would have used premier pro and I would have edit my video in that particular software because it has different types of stuff that you can do, you can add thumbnails, add a funny audio, make the video go faster or slower and its all for free indeed.
In my opinion what went well why was editing the videos on my phone using Viva video editor the was so easy to use and it took me less than 10 minutes to edit a video out quickly.
What did not go so well was not being able to edit it on premier pro because I did not have much time left to finish in my assignment.
I overcame obstacles well such as making a similar logo to my YouTube channel and having a banner on my YouTube channel as well and be able to have some designs of my logos and banner.
In the future for the oncoming project I would like to be able to do all this process properly without rushing into anything and getting videos or anything on it rather than having it on a portfolio.
The key area for my strengths were that I had already some edited videos and already had a banner and logo on my YouTube channel , the weakness was that i was not able to post a video on my channel.
My post production was pretty much valuable comparing to my short film because I had the right type of stuff on such as a logo a banner and videos as well and I had music on which was no copyright claimed and it did not give me any issues to upload the video on my channel.
Conclusion
All these projects helped me a lot and they made me develop different types of skills that I did not even know I had. For example, in Project 1, which was about photography, I improved my skills on how to take pictures with different types of composition such as Rule of Three, Balance and many others. Moving from project one to project two I did audio recording which was about recording sounds similar as the movie Matrix, you didn’t have to do the whole movie but just few sounds of your own had to be in in a short clip.
I have learned how to make sounds using my own body parts and then developed a skill on how to edit them in software by adding other sounds inside the software which was Adobe Audition 2022.
Moving towards Project three, I had to make a movie trailer, I had to come up with a good planning of what types of shots I should take and how to record using the camera. This helped me improve my camera skills and how to move around as the same way as the storyboard planned was a bit of challenging. Moving on, I had to add my clips to the following software, Adobe Premier Pro, and then from there I had to add all my shorts clips into 1 clip and add music on the background to complete it.
Moving on to FMP, I had to apply all my skills from the previous projects to make a good YouTube channel which included most of the skills from my previous projects. For my FMP I made a gaming YouTube channel where I have posted one video about the gameplay I played and I have edited it on my phone using Inshot which is an app that is available on mobile phones.
I feel confident now on how to use cameras and editing videos out but I just need to improver more on my time management and I can do that for my future projects by having a routine on what to do and when to get it done, so I will manage to finish everything on time, without getting any extra time for the deadline. The reason why I have to improve my time management is because I realised throughout project 3 and FMP my time management was not good enough and I could not finish my projects on the deadline given that is why I had to get an extension to finish my projects.
