What is a sound?
A sound is a a type of energy that is made by vibrations. such as like when we move an object it vibrates it causes movement the surrounding air molecules.
There are different types of sounds such as sound energy, sound energy is mainly defined as the movement of the vibrations through matter. a sound energy is produced when an object vibrates which shows us a result in a noise. The sound vibrations cause waves of pressure which travel through air, wood, water or metal.
There are types of sounds that are audible, inaudible , unpleasant, pleasant, soft, loud, noise and music.
secondary research
For my secondary research I have watched few radio clips and one of them was Wall-E Ben Burtt who is a sound designer, where he makes sounds naturally using his voice and instruments and then he puts them into a software and edit them and find the best sound for it, Wall-E is not the only movie where the sounds are made by humans but there are other Disney movies where making sounds is made by humans by using their voices and they get paid a lot of money to just do 10 seconds or reading two lines for making one sound. the sound made for Wall-E took a long time maybe up to a year or so to find the best quality sound to use one of the sounds are made by using objects and some by human body parts such as smashing your hand on the table and making a gun fire noise and many more these sound get edited adobe audition or other software’s and then they get added other sounds to it and removed the back sounds that are not needed so it makes up a better sound quality to use for the actual movie which is Wall-E.

| How can you develop the dialogue within the Audio Script to improve the overall quality of the radio play? Make the dialogue more sensible to understand make the talk of the character more serious as if they are on a serious mission. Is the quality of the audio clear when you listen to it? In my opinion the quality is clear. Could the volume level of each character be adjusted? Are they too loud or quiet? The volume level of the movie matrix is perfectly fine it doesn’t need any adjustment to be loud or to be quieter. Could you add more effects to enhance the audio such as – Equalisation, Reverb, and Echo? I would add audio such as like echo of the bullets when they miss the lady and then do the equalisation sound so it will match the perfection of the movie |

| Do the sound effects suit the purpose of each scene and what is happening within the story? How could this be improved? The sound effect suits the purpose of each scene because its loud at certain point and is low at points where it needs to be, I don’t think it needs and improvements. Could the volume level of each be adjusted? Are they too loud or quiet? The volume of each everyday sound in the clip should be a bit louder so its easier to hear what it sounds like. |

| Do the sound effects suit the purpose of each scene and what is happening within the story? How could this be improved? The sfx sound in the scene sounds more like its dramatic in my opinion it should sound realistic on a side too so it can be clearer. Could the volume level of each be adjusted? Are they too loud or quiet? The volume of some sfx in the scene need to be quiet because they are a bit too loud then normal. |

| Does the music suit the purpose of the Radio Play? What style of music could you add to build the scene further? The music sound should be more sci-fi and when the fight happens it should be dramatic so it can build the scene more interesting and can make the scene go further on. Could the volume level be adjusted? Are they too loud or quiet? The volume should be adjusted, and it must be louder. |
| Atmospheric Sound |
| Does the atmospheric sound add to the location of the scene? How can you further develop your ideas? The atmospheric sound gives us options such as like where the scene is happening what is there like the police car used shows us that the cops are around or the area where the scene is happening or when the cops pull out the handcuffs this gives me the idea of somebody is about to get arrested. |
primary research
For my primary research I had a task sheet which contained different type of sounds and I had to make them using a microphone which was connected to a device called Tascam which records sound on its own otr u connect a mic to it and it records audio and you can play audio on it and delete it, there is a lot of stuff you can do with this device that looks like this:
this is the tascam I have inputted on the bottom mic line which allowed me to use the mic and record some clear audio, I have recorded sounds such as caughing, closing doors footsteps, sneezing and others which was part of my task these were all part of my practice tassk so i could get used to know the features and how does it work.
I also have done the set up in the classroom which was connecting the microphone to the computer and to connected to an audio interface which has the following features as giving the power to make the sound and to change the sound volume to give a clear and better sound.
this is a condense microphone that I used to record the audio which I later on listened on the computer and checked the audio of different microphones, I have used a stand where I putted the mic so I won’t have to hold it no more, I have also checked out which one of the microphones is the best between them.
this is the M-Audio track, this equipment is used to insert microphones cables in and connect to the input, it is also used to connect studio monitors on the back and you can also connect your headphones and then flip the switch between USB and Direct. I have also used this equipment to get more power and to turn the volume up and down.
I have used my smartphone to record some audio as well which turned out well I have used an app on my phone which does the following audio recording of any sound, I have done that as practicing.
this is an XLR cable this is a cable that is used with professional audio equipment such as microphones, mixers, soundboards. I have used the XLR cable to connect it with the microphone with the Tascam so I would be able to record the audio with a better quality.
